This module introduces about the detailed accounts of the principal developments in the Western world from the revolutionary period to the present day. Buildings will be explored with reference to major contemporary examples and the work and philosophy of significant exponents. Students will undertake a major research of a significant building, complete with investigation of the major influences that led to its development and in turn its influence in other architectural aspects.
PROJECT 1
The first project of this module we are to research about analysis process on Modern Malaysian architecture practices throughout history through literature review and document analysis and present an appropriate chronological account of the Malaysian architecture based on the understanding gained through the analysis procedure.

Here, we were to divided into a group of four to five to conduct various analysis research on the selected buildings. The, were to combine with other subgroups to come out with a continuous illustrative chronology poster of Modern Malaysian Architecture that interprets the Modern Malaysian Architectural language and architecture influences to the architectural development of Malaysia in particular.

From this assignment, I have learnt analyze and discuss the relationship of the Modern Architecture of Malaysia with social, cultural, environmental and intellectual context of Malaysian architecture post Merdeka/Independence.
PROJECT 2
For the second project, in a group of four to five, we were to conduct a research and architectural analysis on a selected building. Then we were to produce a report documenting the findings of the analysis using photos, sketches and diagrams as evidence.

From this assignment, I have learnt to analyse and identify specific architectural features of Modern Architecture in the Klang Valley. I have also learnt to increase understanding on the principle, ideas and contributing factors of Modern Architecture in the Klang Valley
